Differences Between Black Tea and Green Tea
Both green and black tea come from the same plant. Green tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant . The difference between black and green tea lies in their production techniques. Green tea is almost never fermented, while black tea is fermented and its production process is more complex. Due to the differences in production techniques, their nutritional content also differs.
Green tea
Green tea leaves do not fully ferment. This ensures that some important nutrients remain unchanged. Green tea contains less caffeine than black tea, about a quarter of the amount found in coffee. The type of leaf can also vary. For example, Lazika green tea is produced from young, hand-picked leaves, with 2.5 leaves. 2.5 leaves refers to the top two leaves and the buds above them. This makes the green tea richer in both flavor and nutritional value.
Green tea has a very low fermentation rate. This makes it richer in polyphenols. Furthermore, its lack of oxidation makes it very rich in EGCG, a highly effective antioxidant. When combined with a proper diet and exercise routine, green tea can significantly increase the chances of having a more vibrant metabolism.
How to brew Lazika green tea?
Since Lazika produces green tea from 2.5 hand-picked young leaves, brewing with water at 80-85 degrees Celsius will suffice. 1.5 grams of green tea is enough for an 800 cc teapot. After brewing for approximately 4 minutes, you can enjoy your tea. We are against drinking it with sugar and recommend at least trying it plain. If you feel the need to add something, honey, lemon, or fresh mint make a nice combination.

Black Tea
Black tea is a fermented tea. Fermentation causes the active ingredients to differentiate. You can find the details of the active ingredients in both black and green tea in the previous section.
Brewing black tea requires patience above all else. Tea brewing doesn't like to be rushed. It's important that you use good quality water (low in limescale, balanced pH, and most importantly, high in oxygen). Boiling the water too much will reduce its oxygen level.
