Tea and Biscuits – Part 1
Tea and Biscuits: Discover the Best Combination
Just as bean stew and rice, döner kebab and ayran, and Tom and Jerry are inseparable pairs, when it comes to tea, many of us think of biscuits. According to our public opinion survey, 80% of tea lovers consume biscuits by dipping them in their tea. So, to prevent you from making a mess while dipping your biscuits, we conducted a test and wanted to share the results with our valued tea drinkers.
Our test currently covers 5 different types of biscuits available on shelves in Türkiye. We used 4 different criteria in our study:
- Recommended immersion time
- Degradation time in tea
- Maximum immersion time for accident-free eating.
- Recommended total meal time
1. Ülker Petit Beurre
Ülker Pötibör has held the title of the most consumed biscuit with tea for years. But is it a good option for dipping in tea? Here are the test results:
| Recommended Immersion Time | 1.5 seconds |
|---|---|
| Degradation Time in Tea | 6.09 seconds |
| Maximum Immersion Time for Accident-Free Cooking | 2.5 seconds |
| Recommended Total Meal Time | 5.06 seconds |
Our test table's most classic guest is Ülker Pötibör. We congratulate Ülker Pötibör for achieving quite competitive results for its size.
2. Eti Burçak
With its delicious taste and oat content, Eti Burçak is a favorite among tea lovers, but it's a biscuit that needs to be consumed quickly. Here are the test results:
| Recommended Immersion Time | 1 second |
|---|---|
| Degradation Time in Tea | 3 seconds |
| Maximum Immersion Time for Accident-Free Cooking | 1.5 seconds |
| Recommended Total Meal Time | 2.54 seconds |
Eti Burçak is a flavor that has the potential to become a classic. However, you should be careful; if you let it sit for too long, you might make a mess.
3. Ülker Saklıköy Milk Cream
Ülker Saklıköy Milk Cream Biscuits, one of the new generation of cream-filled biscuits, are not ideal for dipping in tea. Here are the test results:
| Recommended Immersion Time | 2.5 seconds |
|---|---|
| Degradation Time in Tea | 13.3 seconds |
| Maximum Immersion Time for Accident-Free Cooking | 8.15 seconds |
| Recommended Total Meal Time | 5.97 seconds |
The cream, which is difficult to melt, can cause the biscuit to completely fall apart. It's best enjoyed with tea.
4. Feast Biscolata Starz Sandwich
A favorite among chocolate lovers, this biscuit leaves a pleasant taste when dipped in tea. Here are the test results:
| Recommended Immersion Time | 1.57 seconds |
|---|---|
| Degradation Time in Tea | 8.15 seconds |
| Maximum Immersion Time for Accident-Free Cooking | 3.89 seconds |
| Recommended Total Meal Time | 5.04 seconds |
The thinness of the biscuit might not perfectly complement the tea flavor. However, it's a sweet alternative for chocolate lovers.
5. Eti Burçak Cocoa Creamy
Eti Burçak's cocoa version is an ideal biscuit to have with tea. Here are the test results:
| Recommended Immersion Time | 2.2 seconds |
|---|---|
| Degradation Time in Tea | 5.3 seconds |
| Maximum Immersion Time for Accident-Free Cooking | 3 seconds |
| Recommended Total Meal Time | 4.1 seconds |
Provided you don't leave them in the tea for too long, it's a fairly balanced biscuit.
